We have a true passion for empowering girls and youth through sports.

Alicia Lui

Christie Ma

A lover of sports from a young age, Alicia hopes to encourage all women and girls to play and enjoy sports throughout their lives. A former figure skater, horse rider, swimmer and basketball player, she is now an ultimate frisbee player and captains the Hong Kong women’s team.

Recognizing that playing sports has instilled in her a strong sense of self-belief and self-motivation as well as empathy and an ability to work with others, Alicia dedicates much of her energy to empowering other women and girls to find joy, meaning, fulfillment, friendships, belonging and connection in and through sports.

Sporty Girl Journals is Alicia’s first foray into book writing. She is founder of Women in Sports Empowered Hong Kong (WISE HK), a nonprofit organization, which champions sports for women and girls. You can read more about Alicia on her website: www.alicialui.com.

Christie is an emerging multidisciplinary artist from Hong Kong and Canada, focused on realising the embodied and untranslatable through the visual arts. Christie is also an athlete and activist, passionate about international human rights and social equity. Christie can be contacted at christie-ma@outlook.com.
